I can still remember that day when a three week old puppy waddled over to the edge of the whelping box and gave me a look that said "We belong together." Who makes a decision as to which puppy they will keep at 3 weeks? I did and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. The puppy grew up to be CH Ravenwood Stop The World CDX NAJ CGC VCCX TDInc known to his many friends and admirers as Newley. He was my constant companion and every moment I had with him is precious to me. He had a long and wonderful life with success in the breed ring, obedience, and agility. He was a certified therapy dog and made many visits to schools helping me teach dog care and bite prevention. Newley was a wonderful ambassador for the breed. I have so many wonderful stories about him and may add some of them later but right now it is hard for me to even type this. The night of February 13th he fell asleep in my arms and did not wake up. I think that is how most of us would like to leave this life...peacefully in our sleep in the arms of someone we love and who loves us in return. I miss him terribly but he is still with me in spirit. (3/11/03) |
